In 2003, Jones & Vining introduced the BI-FIT™ system, an advanced method of insole board construction. Bi-Fit™ insoles are manufactured via a patented manufacturing process that relies on the extrusion in sheet form of one of two recycled plastics (Polypropylene or Polyethelene), providing varying degrees of rigidity and flexibility. In the sheet making manufacturing phase, a non-woven cover and backer is applied in order to ensure easy bonding and cementing in the shoe manufacturing process. In addition to flat die-cut versions, Bi-Fit™ sheets can then be molded, allowing for custom contouring to your specific last shape, in a single molded part. In addition to offering a water-proof and recycling benefit, shankless shoe construction is available with harder versions of Bi-Fit™ and strobel-stitch construction is available using softer versions of Bi-Fit™. Comfort and cushioning products provide the option for enhanced comfort when secured as a toplayer to Bi-Fit™. While other insole board products sacrifice heel stability for flexibility in the forefoot area, the dual-molded design of Bi-Fit™ balances the need for both. All Bi-Fit™ insole board products are currently manufactured in Taiwan.
